dc.description.abstract Since the COVID-19 breakout which made remote education necessary, online courses and other virtual learning platforms have increased in popularity and reach. However with the increase in demand for remote learning, another problem has arised: e-invigilation. Presently, human proctoring is the most common approach of invigilation, with instructors monitoring students during exams via a webcam. Clearly this is not an efficient method. So we aim to develop an automated proctoring system using AI which can be used to detect and flag any cheating behaviour. We also aim to include in our system, the technique to detect plagiarism in the answer sheets of students taking an exam. Plagiarism is the unethical act of using somebody else’s intellectual work as one’s own, in any field of work like academics, art, music, etc. This method of checking for cheating instances in answer copies requires basic technical prerequisites but reduces the need for physical examination centers. en_US
