dc.description.abstract The ongoing research project delves into the analysis of bio-inspired patents, focusing on how biological phenomena inspire technological innovation. To date, four specific bio-inspired phenomena have been selected through the AskNature website. The study meticulously examines patents embodying these biological strategies, employing a keyword search query crafted to encapsulate each phenomenon and its encompassing biological strategy. We examined ten patents for each phenomenon from Google Patents, focusing on extracting and categorizing embedded biological information. The analysis involved organizing this information into three main themes: structure, behavior, and function. The extracted data has undergone a comprehensive preprocessing stage, involving text extraction, term categorization, and linguistic analysis. Techniques such as bigram identification, lemmatization, POS tagging, and TF-IDF analysis have been employed to distill and categorize significant terms. In the comparative analysis against a control group of 350 random patents, distinct linguistic patterns unique to bio-inspired patents have emerged. The preliminary findings provide a nuanced understanding of the linguistic structure of bioinspired patents. The study underscores the potential of bio-inspired strategies in driving technological innovation and emphasizes the importance of systematic analysis in comprehending the evolution and application of biomimetic principles in patents. It should be noted that this research is still ongoing, and further insights are anticipated as the project progresses. en_US
