| dc.description.abstract | This report addresses significant challenges in our academic institution's manual Teaching Assistant (TA) allocation process. The current system relies on time-consuming Excel sheets and email-based communication, leading to inefficiencies and difficulties in managing student and course data. Our proposed solution is an advanced TA Allocation System designed to streamline and enhance allocation. The identified problems include manual data management, lack of systematic professor input, inefficiencies in professor-student matching, and limitations in the Google Form mechanism. These issues contribute to an arduous and error-prone allocation process. To tackle these challenges, we present a comprehensive solution that replaces the reliance on Google Spreadsheets and Forms. Our proposed system offers an intuitive dashboard for administrators and department heads, providing real-time visibility into TA allocations. For professors, it includes a user-friendly interface for easily identifying assigned TAs, fostering improved collaboration. The solution also introduces a specialized TA form with essential constraints, ensuring precise preference submissions and reducing the burden on administrators for data cleaning. In summary, our suggested TA Allocation System aims to change how we currently assign teaching assistants completely. It brings in more openness, efficiency, and accuracy. By dealing with the problems we've identified, this solution makes the whole process easy to use, automatic, transparent, and much more straightforward for our academic institution. | en_US |
