Abstract:
Road accidents pose a significant public safety concern in India, leading to substantial loss of life and numerous injuries each year. This project delves into existing literature and global practices to assess accident trends, their underlying causes, and the current state of road safety in the country. It investigates key factors such as human behavior, road conditions, vehicle attributes, and environmental influences that contribute to accidents. The study also highlights the importance of creating a comprehensive dataset in the future to classify various types and causes of accidents. This dataset will serve as a foundation for developing AI-driven tools to identify high-risk areas and monitor driver behavior in real time. By offering valuable insights for policymakers and researchers, this work aims to advance predictive models and implement targeted strategies to mitigate accidents and enhance road safety.
