| Abstract: | This research investigates the integration of Tangible Augmented Reality (Tangible AR) with shape-changing interfaces to enhance interaction design education. By combining physical manipulation with digital augmentation, this study aims to address key challenges in visualizing abstract HCI concepts, fostering engagement, and promoting collaborative learning. A prototype AR application was developed using a shape-changing interface, where different interaction design techniques are represented on distinct sides of a modular structure. When two sides are rotated to meet, the system projects an AR visualization showcasing the interplay between the selected techniques. Insights from surveys of students and teaching assistants informed the prototype’s design, emphasizing the need for immersive, intuitive, and scalable educational tools. This work highlights the transformative potential of Tangible AR in bridging theoretical and practical knowledge, offering a pathway to more effective and interactive learning environments. Future directions include refining the prototype, conducting user testing, and exploring its scalability across diverse educational settings. |
