Abstract: This report analyzes the performance of a Cooperative Device to Device Communication in a Heterogeneous Cellular Network. In the proposed work, a heterogeneous network is considered where the base station of the macro cell wants to communicate with the base station of another cell. But due to link failure, both base stations aren’t able to communicate directly. So with the assistance of Device to Device transmitter (D2D Tx) which would act as an AF relay, will provide a scheme for the base stations to communicate with each other over some subcarriers. Also D2D Tx will communicate with the Device to Device Receiver(D2D Rx) on the remaining subcarriers. The analysis will show that the two way AF relaying system improves the spectral efficiency and reduce the outage probability
