Conventional data warehouse systems are implemented either on a multi-dimensional database or a relational database. While the earlier supports MOLAP operations, the other supports ROLAP operations. In this work, we used another option to implement a data warehouse on a NoSQL database. NoSQL (Not Only SQL) systems are becoming popular due to several dvantages such as elasticity and horizontal scalability. We propose and implement the rules that convert the dimensional data model to the logical MongoDB model. We show the disadvantages of ROLAP and MOLAP and advantages of MongoDB, which is a document-oriented NoSQL database.en_US
