<description>Understanding the impact of formality on virality of documents
Bansal, Rajat; Shah, Rajiv Ratn (Advisor)
Formality is an important dimension of language style. Texts of different genres tend to have different degrees of formality. The project aims at analyzing Reddit submissions across various categories/discourses and finding if a correlation exists between Formality of the submission and how viral the submission becomes. A variety of experiments were carried out to verify the same and if possible observe any interesting patterns that might emerge.
