Abstract:
Through its agship program of Community Health Workers or (CHWs), the Government of India appoints some the local people from the rural areas and trains them to make regular home visits to newly turned mothers and to provide global standard newborn care practices. These selected CHWs are known as Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHAs). Sangoshthi provides a low-cost mobile-based training to the ASHAs that ts well into the rural environment of low-Internet access. Sangoshthi hosts real-time training sessions with the CHWs having access to basic functional phones. An appointed moderator uses an app/web-portal to schedule the sessions, manage the trainees, compile learning materials, broadcast reminders of the session, and nally broadcast the session. The trainees attend the sessions via their basic functional phones. This project aims to develop a robust web portal for the moderator. This portal is a central element in the Sangoshthi setup with two main aims: scalability and usability. This report outlines a potential startup idea based upon the Sangoshthi technology, using the above mentioned portal as its base and Minimum Viable Product (MVP).
