Abstract:
Driving is a demanding task both mentally and physically. Our emotional state can have a
signi ficant effect on our driving performance. Due to which automobile organizations have been
interested in developing emotionally aware vehicles which can adapt according to the driver's
need for optimal driving experience and performance. One of the components of a vehicle which
we will focusing for this project is the navigation system. Previous studies have shown that
there is correlation between the mood of the driver and what emotion the tone of the navigation
voice system represents (which were happy or sad in those studies). The aim of this project is
to conduct an experiment where we will try to find correlations between emotional state of the
driver and navigation system voice tone, the data collected from the experiment will be then
used to train a model which will select the optimal navigation system voice for the user. The
voice selection model will use Physiological signals in addition to Big Five Personality traits of
the user to determine what voice is to be selected.
