Course recommendation and management system

Abstract

Registration of courses through the current ERP system in place at the institution, poses several problems. Selecting courses based on multiple criteria like credit requirements, degree requirements, timing clashes, anti/pre requisites and department of choice, can be extremely laborious. Our project is concerned with building the ideal course registration and management system for students. CRAMS over’s a dynamic dashboard that displays the student's semester wise performance and an overview of the degree completion goals accomplished till now, along with recommendations personalized for the student. It also enables students to sort courses based on departments, credits and core/elective division etc. There is also an automatic personalized time-table which is created once the student selects the courses for the semester. This is generated after checking timing clashes while registration. Personalized recommendations are specially curated for each student, based on his/her interests, degree requirements, capabilities and past record. Our objective is to design the site in a way that makes all this easier, effortless and more convenient!
